You might think it's odd for someone to have one specific favorite toilet in all the world otherwise, you probably envision a wonderfully designed toilet in a mansion somewhere. Well, I've seen some of the toilets in the Herst Castle, but I'm still sticking with my choice:
It's the State Park erected public toilet at the trailhead of the Kelso Dunes. Now, I know I've often been heard to say that I hate public restrooms, and normally that is the case, but since I would immagine this toilet sees maybe one person per day, on average, it's not too bad.
You see, it's very hot at the dunes, in the middle of the Mojave, but this restroom was designed in such a way, that whenever there is the slightest breeze, air is pulled down the toilet (you see this is really an outhouse type toilet), and up through those large pipes behind the building. So, when sitting on the toilet, you are in a wonderfully pleasant breeze, which cools, and relaxes you. I could literally sit there all day, and very contentedly. Too bad it doesn't have a window. |
