| Unlike Jon, I'm not surprised at yesterday's outcome. I am, however, deeply saddened. George W. Bush and his party have pulled "the wool" over the eyes over nearly all Americans. Morality? You expect morality from someone who architected the theft of the 2000 election, and has murdered 100,000 Iraqi women and children for, as he calls it, "capital"?
Terrorism? Who feels safer from terrorism with this president? He has not captured Osama, and he has caused greater hatred of the US in the middle east than there ever has been. He has aided terrorist recruitment more than anyone else could have, and he has turned America into a terrorist nation. Yes, we are; what would you call a nation that invades other nations on false pretenses, and bombs civilian population centers? Corrupt imperialists at best!
The republicans have sold their line about morality, safety and economics to vast numbers of Americans, in the face of well known directly contradictory facts. They are bald faced liars. They do not want an America based on Truth, Justice and Freedom. They want an America based on spin, revenge and Christianity.
FUCK! FUCK! Fuck you Bush! Fuck you! Fuck all 51% of you assholes who don't see through this shit! Turn off Fox News and read from a reputable source! See the truth! He did nothing! He had nine months to prevent 9/11! In three years he hasn't captured Osama! He's murdered hundreds of thousands of people! He's shitting on our constitution! He is going to overturn Roe v. Wade! He's going to EXPAND the "patriot" act! We'll have a hardliner republican supreme court for decades! Don't you people understand that power currupts! He's dismantling the checks and balances in our system one by one! |

B (2005-11-02): This is the typical response of a narrow sighted, head in the sand, individual. Every claim made by the Democratic party is hyperbole and based only remotely, if at all, in reality. Bush is defending your freedom. Bush is doing what he can to build a better world. And yeh, to do so sometimes you need to break a few eggs. It is heartening to see somebody who is trying to do what our 4th grade history teachers taught was the purpose of studying history - to LEARN from our mistakes. If WWII taught us anything it was that we cannot stick our heads in the sand and ignore disgusting behavior being carried out by our neighbors. We need to do what we can when we can before the evil people are knocking on our doors wearing bomb belts.
B (2005-11-02): PS Why do you think Osama was born the day George W. came into office? I could've sworn he was a problem years before 9/11. Why do you place ZERO blame on any other admnistration?
Erik (2005-11-04): B, name one claim made by the Democrats that is hyperbole. That the war in Iraq is a clusterfuck? That the Katrina response was botched? That the Wilma response was embarrassing? That the Iraq war was based on a lie? That Bush, Cheny, Rumsfeld, Frist and Delay are corrupt liars? From where I'm sitting, every one of those points, and countless others are documented fact.
BTW: No, Bin Laden was not born on W's inauguration day. But there are a whole lot more Bin Ladens running around now than where were on that awful day five years ago.
