I was all excited to go to "Insomnia", when it opened. So Chris, Vanessa and I
went to see it, opening day. I couldn't wait to see Robin Williams, one of my
very favorite actors (see: Bicentennial Man) do a evil role, for the first time
I've ever seen.
Robin Williams did a terrific job, really selling the role of the killer who
thinks he's too smart to get caught. He was very creepy, but you almost felt
for him, just as you're supposed to do. Yep, Robin did an evil role, where most
actors would take a popularity hit, comming out smelling sweet. He's just that
good.
Al Pacino is tired. I'm tired of him. He's done the yelling, torn-up-inside
kind of a good guy role so many times, I knew what he was going to do, say, and
sound like, half an hour before he does it. Come on Al, take a hint from your
co-star, broaden your horisons a little.
Still, the movie is worth Robin William's role. Maybe a day-time showing though.
